What are the treatments available at The Sahyadri Speciality Clinic?
At Sahyadri we use modern techniques and two different types of "Bariatric Surgeries" which is only available at our Deccan and Nagar Road Hospital.

SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY

It is a surgical weight-loss procedure in which the stomach is reduced to about 25% of its original size, by surgical removal of a large portion of the stomach along the greater curvature.

Procedure:
A restrictive procedure that limits the amount of food you can eat by reducing the size of your stomach laparoscopically from 1500ml to approximately 150 ml. It helps in effective controlling / curing co-morbidities and achieving weight loss of approximately 70% excess weight in one year.

GASTRIC BYPASS

This type of surgery refers to a surgical procedure in which the stomach is divided into a small upper pouch and a much larger lower "remnant" pouch and then the small intestine is rearranged to connect to both.

Procedure:
A gold standard procedure by isolating a portion of the stomach and connecting to the distal part of the small intestine. It is done laparoscopically and effectively helps in controlling / curing co-morbidities and achieving weight loss of approximately 80% of excess weight in one year.
