Heart Attack से बचाव कैसे करें? | Symptoms & Causes

Signs and Symptoms of a Heart Attack

Dr. Jagjit Deshmukh, an interventional cardiologist at Sahyadri Hospital, highlights that while there are numerous queries about the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, not every chest pain is indicative of one.

Key signs of a potential heart attack include:

  • Chest pain or discomfort
  • Uneasiness in the chest
  • Sensations of nausea and vomiting
  • Cold sweats
  • A general feeling of unwellness

Dr. Deshmukh emphasizes that if any of these symptoms arise, particularly with a history of heart disease in the family, or if conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol are present, it is crucial to consult a doctor immediately.

Preventing Heart Attacks in the Young Population

Dr. Deshmukh suggests several ways to prevent heart attacks, particularly among the younger population:

  1. Balanced Diet: It is important to eat a diet that includes fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. Processed meats and sugary drinks should be avoided to reduce the risk of heart disease.

  2. Stay Active: The World Health Organization recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week to help reduce the risk of heart disease.

  3. Quit Smoking: Tobacco in any form increases the risk of blood clots in the arteries, which can lead to heart attacks.

  4. Stress Management: Psychological stress, if left unmanaged over time, can directly and indirectly increase the risk of heart attacks. Managing stress is crucial for overall heart health.

By following these preventive measures, young individuals can significantly lower their risk of heart-related problems.
