Dr. Nikhil Likhate is known as the best Orthopedic Surgeon in Pune. He is currently working as a Consultant Orthopaedic & Joint Replacement Surgeon at Sahyadri Hospitals. He has a rich and vast experience of almost 13 years in his field. He has a special interest in Joint preservations and Adult Reconstructive Surgeries, (Arthroplasty and Arthroscopic Reconstructive Surgeries) of Knee, hip, and shoulder joints.

He has completed his graduation in M.B.B.S. from the University of Pune. He also did D.N.B. (Orthopaedic surgery)- National board of examinations, Ministry of health and family Welfare, Govt. of India. He also did M.N.A.M.S. and a fellowship in Primary and Revision joint replacement from Asklepios hospitals, Germany. Since his post-graduation, he has attended, presented papers, and delivered lectures related to his field of interest in various national as well as international instructional lecture courses and conferences to upgrade his professional skill in different fields of orthopedic surgery with a special interest in Arthroplasty and arthroscopy.

Dr. Nikhil has done more than 1500 cases of arthroscopic reconstructive surgeries of knee joint, like partial as well as complete meniscectomy, meniscus repair ACL/PCL ligament reconstruction, cartilage transfer, OATS, chondroplasty, salvage surgery, Shoulder joint, etc. He has also performed live demonstration surgery under the guidance of designer and joint replacement surgeon Prof. Francesco Saverio Santori from Italy at Sahyadri hosp. on 18th July 2006.

Before joining Sahyadri Hospital, Dr. Nikhil worked at different hospitals like Jehangir hospital, Sanjeevan hospital, Ratna hospital, Hardikar Hospital, KEM Hospital, Civil hosp. Nasik and P.H.C. Shirval, Satara, etc. He was also invited as a faculty member to teach budding orthopedic surgeons at the cadaveric labs situated in Bangalore and Chennai frequently for arthroscopic shoulder and knee reconstruction surgeries.
