Sampat Patil is India’s only trained orthopaedic surgeon, specialized in foot and ankle with an experience of 22 years. He is a Consultant Orthopaedic & Director of Orthopaedics at Sahyadri Super Specialty Hospital, Hadapsar. We know him for his vast knowledge of orthopaedics. He has always been good in his academics and has completed some degrees like MBBS from Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 1995, DNB, MNANS. Apart from these doctorate degrees, he has also done a diploma in Orthopaedics from Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 1998 of the national board.
Along with practising at Sahyadri hospital, he is also an active member, secretary, editor, etc of many societies and associations. This includes Dr. Patil as a Secretary of Indian Foot and Ankle Society, Secretary of Pune Orthopedic society, an Executive Committee Member of the Indian Orthopaedic Association, and Executive Committee Member of Maharashtra Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Sampat Patil spends his spare time writing about orthopedics. He is a Section Editor of Foot and Ankle Section in JOCR, which is a Journal of Orthopaedic Case Reports. He is also an associate editor for BMC, musculoskeletal disorders. Along with this, he also did some fellowship programs like the Traveling Fellowship Program in the year 2015 where he was awarded by American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, the USA in the time span of 14th July to 31st July 2015. The second fellowship program was at UTMB University- Houston- Texas, USA under the Department of Orthopedics from 6th July to 11th July 2015 on Charcot foot reconstruction.
