Dr. Shashikant Apte is a well-known Haematologist in Pune. He is famous for his outstanding skills in Haematology and is currently working as a Senior Consultant Haematologist at Sahyadri Hospitals, Pune. He specializes in diagnosing, managing, and treating diseases related to blood and blood-producing organs. He is also associated with the department of Bone Marrow Transplant.

He has done MD (General Medicine) MBBS from K.E.M Hospital, Mumbai and FRCPA (Hematology) from Royal College of Pathologists of Australia. Dr. Apte started Bone Marrow Transplant Program in Pune and has done more than 600 Bone marrow Transplants which includes more than 100 Allogeneic Transplants.

Dr. Apte undertook Bone Marrow Transplant for Acute Myeloid Lukemia at Vellore and also has a clinical profile and management of 19 patients with Agranulocytosis.

He also did a paper presentation at the 34th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Mumbai.

He has also done various research projects like Immune Modulation using T-Cell Monoclonal Antibody in the treatment of Aplastic Anaemia –under the guidance of Dr Mammen Chandy, CMC Hospital Vellore India and Allogenic Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantations. Under the guidance of Dr Ken Bradstock, Westmead Hospital, Sydney, Australia.

Dr Apte is also a member of the executive committee–Hemophilia Federation of India and a member of the Thrombosis Tank Force. He has also published some national and international papers like Vikas Bhushan, Mammen Chandy, David Dennison Uma Khanduri, Alok Shrivastava, Apte S.J., etc.
