Some health-related issues faced by women which have higher risks

Following are some frequent health issues that women face:

Heart disease –

Heart disease is a very common reason for deaths among women. However, if you are thinking that it is more common amongst men, the symptoms of heart disease affect males and females equally.

Yet, only 54% of women realize that heart disease one of the most top health conditions leading to their life risk. In the US, 49% of women suffer from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.

Breast cancer –

This disease originates from the lining of milk ducts and can also spread to the other organs of the body. It is one of the most aggressive states of cancer which is affecting the overall global population of females.

Initially, if you are affected by breast cancer, you will tend to develop lumps in your breasts. Most of the lumps are non-threatening but you should have them checked by a doctor.

Gynecological issues –

The discharge of blood and bleeding are quite normal during the menstrual cycle. But if you’re facing other symptoms during menstruation then it may affect your health. The symptoms include bleeding between menstruation and frequent urinating.

Sexually transmitted diseases or reproductive tract cancer may also lead you to vaginal issues. If these issues are left unchecked by the doctor then it may cause you serious health problems.

Ovarian and cervical cancer –

Many people don’t know the difference between ovarian cancer and cervical cancer. Ovarian cancer starts in the fallopian tubes and cervical cancer originates in your lower uterus.

However, in both conditions, you will face severe pain and cervical cancer causes discharge and pain during intercourse.

Whereas, if you are having ovarian cancer, the symptoms will be extremely vague but your condition might become very complex.

Pregnancy issues –

If you have medical conditions before your pregnancy, they can get worse during your pregnancy period. These conditions can put the lives of you and your child in danger.

Asthma, depression, and diabetes can affect your child if not treated properly before your pregnancy. Pregnancy can cause you a low count of red blood cells, a condition called anemia, and also depression.

Although, another health issue can arise when a reproductive cell implants outside your uterus, making further gestation unfeasible.

Depression and anxiety –

Usually if you are facing hormonal imbalances in your body then it might lead you to depression and anxiety. Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is common among women, whereas, premenstrual dysmorphic disorder (PMDD), shows similar traits.

After giving birth to a child, you might face a form of depression called ‘baby blues’, but perinatal depression has a much stronger and adverse effect which leads to sadness, emotional imbalances, and tiredness.

Technologies for women for their health issues

New technologies are emerging for treating and assisting care regarding women’s health issues. Several research and developments are being done for applying improved medical assistance, such as a patient-operated device that prepares women for their breast reconstruction.

It uses CO2 instead of needles and a blood test is done to indicate whether the gestation has started outside the fallopian tubes. There is a do-it-yourself PAP smear that determines the chances of getting pregnant using your saliva as a sample.
