The Ultimate Diet for a Healthy Heart

Today, it is quite modern to say modern lifestyle but if we do not pay attention, this lifestyle can cause problems for us. Our lifestyle and diet have a great impact on our entire body.
Our lifestyle affects our hearts a lot. Whenever we say that the patient is suffering from heart disease, if the person has BP, increased triglycerides, and dyslipidaemias, this is also caused by an unhealthy lifestyle.
Today’s lifestyle has become so different from the earlier lifestyle; the diseases that used to happen to people before, after the age of 40-50, are happening today only at the age of 20-25.
At the age of 20-25, people are suffering from heart problems, so the main causes of these problems are unhealthy eating habits or diet and lifestyle. Each one of us needs to understand the consequences of unhealthy habits.
There is a chance for a person to get heart disease. Heart disease can be caused due to various reasons. An unhealthy diet is not the sole reason for heart disease; other causes can be diabetes, obesity, stress, and hereditary.
Being overweight is just one factor that puts people at risk for heart disease and things like a stroke or heart attack. A heart-healthy diet can help you lose weight and lower your cholesterol, blood pressure or triglycerides.
But what is the relationship between diet and heart disease? That’s the question that always arises in my mind. So, let us now understand how diet and heart disease are related.
Diet and heart health are interlinked to one another. If we do not follow a diet pattern, then the stress caused by work increases, which might lead to related heart diseases if a person has a sedentary lifestyle and has long working hours.
So, people tend to ignore healthy food habits. They tend to eat ready-to-eat food or processed food most of the time. If we do not pay attention to the quality of food or the nutrients that we consume, it will indirectly have ill effects on our bodies. The packed food that we eat has very low nutrient content as well as low quality. Also, it contains trans-fat and sodium content(salt), which gradually impacts our health.
Stress and lack of activity can increase the possibility of a person acquiring heart disease.
Diet For Heart Disease
- It has been seen nowadays that at a very tender age, teenagers are suffering from hypertension, increased triglycerides, and dyslipidaemias. It’s very important that parents inculcate healthy food habits in children from a young age.
- It’s necessary that the diet should contain an increased intake of fibre, vitamins, protein and minerals. And the fat intake should be minimal.
- It’s important to avoid trans-fat, which is found in junk food. Mostly processed food, bakery food, and food contain saturated fats.
- Ideally, doctors recommend a vegetarian diet which contains high protein, vitamin fibres, and minerals. The salt content should be moderate as well, and it should be quality food with a high absorption capacity, like raw vegetables and fruits.
- Processed food , aerated food, aerated drinks, soda, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages should be consumed in less quantity.
- Along with diet, there are other habits that people need to keep in moderation, like alcohol intake, smoking, and tobacco.
There are many things you can do to help keep your heart healthy and disease-free. You can schedule an annual check-up, exercise daily, quit smoking, or take steps to reduce the level of stress in your life. All of these things can have a positive effect on heart health.
However, one of the simplest lifestyle changes that will benefit your heart is watching what you eat. Eating foods high in fat, cholesterol, or sodium can be very bad for the heart. So, when taking steps to minimise the risk of heart disease, diet is a good place to start.
If we are able to adapt to healthy living and consume a healthy & quality diet or will be able to keep the optimum nutrients and inculcate healthy habits, then there can be a way to prevent heart disease from getting in our way.
